I'm Nina. A crazy passionate photographer mommy of one adorable baby girl. I absolutely love what I do, probably a little too much. I get to meet all kinds of wonderful, passionate, artist's that create beautiful, incredible things. All kinds of madly in love couples that are celebrating the best days of their lives. It's pretty much the best job ever.
I love adventurous souls, the ones who aren't afraid to kick off their shoes and let it all go. The crazy couples who want to stand in the ocean or hike to that perfect view for their engagement sessions. The brides and grooms who want to sneak away to steal a moment of time, just the two of them in that golden hour sunset. I love connection. That real, raw, I love you, I can't live without you fire in your soul connection. My number one goal is to capture that.
Fine art wedding photographer located in Victoria & Vancouver BC Canada, catering to destination weddings & intimate elopements all over the world.

So here’s the thing, if you haven’t caught on by now, i’m a super, cheesy, corny, sentimental person. I love the movie The Notebook and the first time heard “Kiss Me” by Ed Sheeran I cried. I love wedding’s, everything from the first kiss to the first dance, it’s all my favourite.
I’ve been shooting weddings for 5 years now, the very first wedding I shot was in Florida. I was second shooting for a friend. At the end of the night this song came on and the whole room started doing this dance and singing at the top of their lungs. The bridal party pulled us in and force taught us the dance moves, it was pretty awesome. I think that was my lightbulb moment.
I think that’s why i’m such a naturally happy person. I’m constantly surrounded by so much love and I get to capture it all. Not to mention all their family and friends celebrating how awesome that love is, it’s wonderful. I love all the snuggly, intimate shots but i’m also a huge fan of the raw candid moments. The ones that really tell the story. It’s the first dance photo’s when the two of them get lost and the rest of the world slips away that really get me.
I’m big on having a good relationship with my brides and grooms so that come their wedding day they feel like they’re working with a friend . It should be fun. If we’re going to be hanging out all day at your wedding then we want to have a great time while we shoot. I also want my clients to feel comfortable enough to show raw emotion. I’m all about that PDA and I do actually ask my clients to snuggle, sorry! ;) I want to make your experience as smooth, easy and awesome as possible and I truly believe the more on a friends base I am with my clients the more relaxed they feel and the more fun we all have, and thats when you really get the great shots. I walk you through all your posing so you don’t have to worry about a thing. From the formals to the family portraits I take care of it all. All my brides receive a tips sheet and shot list for family photo's to help them make the most of their photography. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy your day. You already have enough on your plate, let me take something off your shoulders.
I still love shooting just as much as I did the day I started.
I am by no means a videographer. I'm a wedding photographer. This was actually the first time I've ever tried my hand at video. I've always loved wedding video's and was inspired by a friend who did a surprise video for her clients. I had a lovely couple that booked a large package and had some extra time through out the day and they put full creative trust in me to play around after we got all the shots we needed. It wasn't planned. I thought that morning I would try it out and see how it went and she said go for it! (So don't mind the shaky video, It was a total surprise) It turned out to be something I really love because not only did they love it! (she bawled it was so sweet!!) But it shows what I get to experience every wedding. So much love. I literally have the best profession in the world. Every summer I get to witness so much love, so much happiness, so much raw emotion. It's truly an incredible thing. To be able to capture it all. To be able to share in one of the happiest days of people's live's. This video show's a glimpse of what I get to do and why i'm so inlove with it. Maybe this is why i'm such a sappy sap. <3
(May want to check volume.)
There's nothing like showing someone, they're beautiful. In a world where we are so incredibly hard on ourselves, its very rare that I meet women who know they're gorgeous. In fact I've come to realize we all suffer from some sort of self doubt. It breaks my heart. So many incredible women walk into my studio completely riddled with nerves. Nervous that they don't know what to do in front of the camera so it's going to be a huge disaster. Nervous that they aren't what they see as "photogenic". Nervous that they have to be they're most venerable selves in front of a complete stranger; and the worst of all, nervous that they won't like what they see in their images because they never do. These are all very valid feelings. We are humans, we feel and we feel deeply. In a world filled with so many surrounding influences telling you that you don't measure up, I want to show you that you do. Boudoir is something incredible, something that actually makes it hard for me to put into words just how powerful it really is. I wish I could truly show you what happens in my studio because it's the only way you could sincerely understand what it's like to literally see someone realize for the first time that they ARE beautiful. To watch their eyes light up and this smile come across their face and they look up at you and say something like "is that really me?". To watch someone break down into sobs after they see an image of themselves because they've never known that feeling. To witness this fragile soul walk in, unsure, and filled with so much self doubt that i swear for a second if I blinked, they would turn on a heel and sprint so fast out my door that I would be left standing there in a cloud of smoke like the roadrunner wondering what just happened. Yet watch them transform before you as you continue your shoot to these inspiring, confident, radiant women glowing brighter and brighter with each image you show them. That by the time they walk out my door, I have to do a double take because if I hadn't witnessed it myself I wouldn't have believed it was the same person. Leaving with they're head held high and a strut in their step, filled with so much self love and self worth it makes my heart burst. All it takes is someone to show you, what the rest of the world see's in you.
Oh and not to mention the hubby's & hubby's to be really love the photo's too so I guess that's a bonus. ;)
